Hardwood floors? Yes please.

Beautiful hardwood floors are a definite value add for most homes. Keeping them beautiful is a challenge, though. Not only do you have to keep them clean, you’ll undoubtedly have to restore their luster eventually as it’s worn away by foot traffic.

There is no shortage of products on the market to help you accomplish this, but some are definitely better than others.

One such product is TriNova’s Hardwood Floor Polish, which TriNova provided to me in exchange for a review.

For those not familiar with TriNova, they are owned by GoldEagle, the same company behind the 303 line of household, marine, and automotive products. Their automotive chemicals are top notch so I have high expectations for their new line of household chemicals.

First Impressions

When you purchase TriNova Hardwood Floor Cleaner it comes as a sealed bottle with a cap and separate sprayer, just like their cleaner. This is nice because it means less chance of leaks in shipping and you have a convenient way of storing it should you not want to keep the sprayer on it. Unlike the cleaner, the polish’s cap is a pop top to make dispensing the polish easier.

The cleaner itself comes in an attractive white 32 fl. oz bottle with instructions on the back.

After popping the seal, you can smell a very faint aroma of new rubber (almost like an inflatable pool toy). Though, it’s so mild that I don’t anticipate it bothering anyone sensitive to weird smells.

The polish itself is very thin, water-like with a milky white appearance.

I tested a dab of the polish and it left a clear, shiny, smooth spot. This is a good sign. I encourage everyone to do test spots before going balls out with a new chemical just in case the results are poor with your particular material.

Impressions after Using on Hardwood Floors

As a polish, TriNova Hardwood Floor Polish does a very good job at restoring the sheen of sealed wood. It also leaves a very even appearance. Some polishes will leave a splotchy appearance so this was great to see.

It was very easy to apply with the sprayer and spread out in the direction of the wood grain. Given that the floors were already in pretty good shape I opted to stay with just one coat. I can’t comment on how effective multiple coats would be.

For another test, I also used it to “polish” a set of wood cabinets. Since both the cabinets and floors are sealed wood, I anticipated similar results.

As suspected, the polish did a good job at increasing the luster of the wood without leaving an uneven appearance.

All in all, I was pretty impressed with this product.

Final Thoughts

TriNova Hardwood Floor Polish is a solid wood polish.

  • The aroma is very mild.
  • It’s water-like consistency makes it very easy to apply and remove.
  • It does a great job at quickly restoring the luster of sealed floors.
  • It leaves a consistent finish. Not something that’s easily achieved.

As expected, this TriNova product is a solid product. I’m excited to try some more of their household products. I would absolutely purchase this in the future when this bottle runs dry, if anything just for the mild aroma.
